Paula
J. Umscheid, founder and director of SHIC, Inc., with
headquarters in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, People’s
Republic of China, was established with the following
goals and purposes:

To
establish a surgical hospital for orphans and children
from poor families

To
Improve the quality of heath care in remote areas
by organizing free clinics and medical update seminars

Committed
to providing equipment for the most basic hospitals

Providing
relief supplies for people in poor areas and victims
of natural disasters
-
Providing
special services projects
-
Introducing
personal hygiene courses into the school system
-
Introducing
volunteer labor into hospitals.
SHIC’s
outreach has stretched into Inner Mongolia, Tibet,
and Korea. SHIC is a charitable nonprofit 501 (c)
3 organization, with branch offices in Dalian and
Guizhou.
Asian
Children’s Assistance, Ltd.
The Asian Children’s Assistance Children’s
Home Caring Center in Shenyang provides comprehensive
care to handicapped children who have no family and
support to parents and caregivers of handicapped children.
The hospital and orphanage provide:

therapy and education for handicapped and poor children

Medical
treatment when necessary

Help
to find loving adoptive homes for special needs
children

Medical
treatment for children with rare illnesses and conditions

Skillful
surgery that can change the course of young lives

for doctors, nurses and healthcare workers

for parents of handicapped children
