Hope
For Children
Since
2003, CrossRoad Church has sponsored the education
of students enrolled at our Sister Church's school
in Tiburon Haiti. CRC participates in this program
because many Haitian Children are unable to attend
school due to severe economic conditions in the country. Even
government schools, few there are, require payment. With
an average wage of less than $1 per day and a family
of 3-4 kids, most parents cannot afford the $200 it
cost to send their child to school each year.
In 2003 CRC started by sponsoring 45 children. In
2004 we increased the sponsorship to include 75 children. In
2005 the number went up to 169 children. In 2006
CRC sponsors 205 out of the 300 children in the school.
Praise God!!!
The cost to support one child is $200 a year.
One year's tuition provides:
- School
books for that year
- One
school uniform
- One
Church uniform (this allows the child to be involved
in the activates of the local church)
- One
pair of shoes –-- most often, their only shoes
- School
tuition
- School
entrance fee
- Medical
Checkup
- A
warm meal
- Most
importantly of all: Hope!
